These useful box pouches are made with organic cotton velour, which has been quilted to a sturdy recycled upholstery fabric. The zipper, lining and bias tape are all secondhand or scraps. The velour scraps for the exterior are pre-consumer production waste from Finnish sustainable fashion brand MORICO.
Each box pouch is made with a piece of quilted velour. The stretchy velvety fabric is quilted onto a sturdy upholstery fabric (leftover from a sofa reupholstery project) to give it rigidity and eliminate any stretch. The quilt lines are made with contrasting sewing thread to create a nice effect when looking at the pouches from different directions. Each box pouch is constructed with all its seam allowances finished with bias tape. The finished seams give the bag a great rigidity and make it hold its shape, even when it's empty.
These box pouches are the perfect size for travel toiletries, drawing supplies or other everyday essentials. The zipper opens wide, due to the fact that it goes around the corners of the bag. This way the contents of the bags can be accessed easily. These small bags are also a perfect way to keep the inside of a larger bag organized in different compartements. The smaller pouch measures about 17 x 10 x 8 cm, the bigger pouch 24 x 13 x 10 cm.
MORICO is a finnish sustainable brand, creating ethical and slow fashion. This product is created with some of their pre-consumer scraps - cut-offs in the production process of their clothes and accessories. Their high quality organic cottons, viscose and other fabrics are too precious to waste, so we took some of the small and weird pieces and created a small collection of unique Wasteless Wonders products with them.
