This piece of wall art was made with a variety of secondhand yarn, some secondhand linen and an upcycled small canvas frame. The linen is a roughly woven dark orange fabric, that once used to be a curtain. The yarns are mainly cotton and wool-mix and came from a variety box of yarns from a person giving up their unused stash, as well as the local recycling center.
The image on the canvas is created by using a punch needle. The different fluffy or flat sections are made by working from the two different sides of the canvas. On the working side, the flat and embroidery-like stitches are created, while on the back side, tiny loops will form. The punch needle can be adjusted to different lengths, making some of the loops shorter or longer and therefore creating higher or lower carpet-like sections.
This small piece of art works great on its own or integrated into a gallery wall. Paired with the same size "Tea time" mini art work, it forms a nice diptych. It's a perfect piece for tyour living room or bedroom and adds a touch of soft calmness to the room.
