This side table is made with a secondhand wooden tray and a secondhand plant stand base. The soft pebbles are made with organic cotton scraps and filled with small fabric scraps, recycled batting and secondhand stuffing. The organic cotton and velour scraps are pre-consumer production waste from Finnish sustainable fashion brand MORICO.
The pebble-like surface of this side table is made from 60 individual fabric bubbles, of which the majority have been sewn by hand, stuffed and closed. All the bubbles are then sewn together by hand to form a pebble-like mat. The pebble mat is then stapled to an upcycled wooden tray to form the surface of the table. The secondhand steel base is precisely press-fit into the bottom of the tray, without using glue, so that it can be taken apart if needed.
This soft, textured and unusual side table is a perfect addition to any living room or bedroom. The table can be used as a bedside table for some books, your phone and maybe a small table lamp. It is also a great plant stand or - if you use a tray - a great side table for your living room to place some snacks and drinks.
MORICO is a finnish sustainable brand, creating ethical and slow fashion. This product is created with some of their pre-consumer scraps - cut-offs in the production process of their clothes and accessories. Their high quality organic cottons, viscose and other fabrics are too precious to waste, so we took some of the small and weird pieces and created a small collection of unique Wasteless Wonders products with them.
