This box pouch was created with different recycled fabrics, including pre-consumer hemp scraps from HEMPEA. The quilted outer was mainly created with hemp scraps, while the lining is made with secondhand fabric. The zipper and sewing thread are secondhand as well.
The box pouch is made with a square piece of patchwork fabric. The fabric was pieced together from hemp and other fabric scraps and then quilted onto a dark blue backing fabric. The box pouch is then constructed and all seam allowances finished with bias tape. The finished seams give the bag a great rigidity and make it hold its shape, even when it's empty.
This box pouch is the perfect size for travel toiletries, drawing supplies or other everyday essentials. The zipper opens wide, due to the fact that it goes around the corners of the bag. This way the contents of the bags can be accessed easily.
HEMPEA is a finnish sustainable brand, creating eco-friendly home textiles from 100% hemp fabrics. This product is created with some of their pre-consumer scraps - cut-offs in the production process of their bedding and other products. Their high quality, ethically made hemp fabrics are too precious to waste, so we took all the small and odd shape pieces and created a small collection of unique Wasteless Wonders products with them.
