The yarn used to weave this mini rug is a variey of secondhand yarn, including wool and cotton. The warp is a black cotton twine, sourced from a closing sale of a local craft business.
The rug was woven on a small table loom. The basic weaving pattern is a twill, which gives the fabric a diagonal texture. The different shapes are interlocked with the main cobalt background color, which continues on the back side of the rug. After taking the warp off the loom, the two ends of the rug were knotted to secure the piece and create a small fringe on each side.
This mini rug is a perfect little accent on the side of your bed and a nice way to avoid cold feet when getting up. The rug also works well as a small table runner or layered with a larger rug, to add a little pop of color.
