This tote bag was created with different recycled fabrics, including pre-consumer hemp scraps from HEMPEA. The quilted front pocket was mainly created with hemp scraps, while the outer and lining are a variety of secondhand fabrics. The front shiny blue outer fabric is synthetic, while the back and straps are made from a blush grey cotton. The lining is a shiny, silky black synthetic.
The tote bag features a big front pocket, that is made with a quilted piece of fabric. Each triangle was cut from tiny fabric scraps and then sewn together to form a larger patchwork piece. The pocket was quilted, finished and then assembled with the rest of the fabrics into a tote bag. The lining is constructed in such a way that the bag is reversible. The straps are made from recycled fabric, too and securely fixed in place.
The bright blue and orange pops of color on the bag make great accents for basic outfits. It has a generous size that easily fits a laptop or A4 notebook. The front pockets are a good place to keep your pens or headphones out of the way and tidied up.
HEMPEA is a finnish sustainable brand, creating eco-friendly home textiles from 100% hemp fabrics. This product is created with some of their pre-consumer scraps - cut-offs in the production process of their bedding and other products. Their high quality, ethically made hemp fabrics are too precious to waste, so we took all the small and odd shape pieces and created a small collection of unique Wasteless Wonders products with them.
